Storage Instructions
The most important thing to remember is to store these peanut butter banana split cups in the freezer. If left at room temperature, they will quickly soften and lose their shape. For best results, store them in an airtight container or freezer bag for up to a month.

When you’re ready to enjoy one, simply take it out of the freezer a few minutes beforehand to allow it to soften slightly. This will make it easier to eat and enhance the flavors.

Frozen Peanut Butter Banana Split Cups Recipe
These frozen peanut butter banana split cups are an easy to make, no-bake dessert that everyone will enjoy! Layers of frozen chocolate, a peanut butter Greek yogurt filling, and sliced strawberries and bananas come together for the ultimate banana split cup.
Prep Time: 10 minutes | Cook Time: 30 minutes (freezing) | Total Time: 40 minutes | Servings: 12 cups
Ingredients
Magic Shell
- 9 oz. chocolate chips, semi-sweet or dark chocolate
- 1/4 cup coconut oil
Filling
- 2 bananas, sliced
- 1 cup Greek yogurt, vanilla or plain
- 1/3 cup peanut butter
- 1 cup strawberries, sliced
Optional Toppings
- Melted chocolate
- Crushed peanuts
Instructions
- Line a muffin tin with liners and set aside.
- Melt the chocolate and coconut oil until smooth. You can do this in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, or in a double boiler.
- Scoop 1 tablespoon of the melted chocolate into each muffin liner.
- Holding the muffin tin at a slight angle, gently rotate it so the melted chocolate coats the sides of each liner. It should go up the sides just about halfway.
- Place the muffin tin in the freezer for 2 minutes.
- After 2 minutes, add 1/2 tablespoon more of melted chocolate to the muffin liner and repeat turning the muffin tin at an angle to reinforce the chocolate shell.
- Place the muffin tin back in the freezer for another 5 minutes to fully set the chocolate shell.
- While the chocolate shell is freezing, prepare the filling. In a large mixing bowl, combine the Greek yogurt and peanut butter. Stir until well combined and smooth.
- Once the shells have frozen, place 2-3 sliced bananas into each cup, creating a layer at the bottom.
- Next, scoop 1 tablespoon of the Greek yogurt mixture on top of the banana slices, filling the cups about two-thirds full.
- Place 2-3 sliced strawberries on top of the Greek yogurt mixture. Gently press the strawberries into the Greek yogurt mixture.
- If desired, drizzle with melted chocolate and sprinkle with crushed peanuts.
- Place the muffin tin back into the freezer for at least 30 minutes, or until fully frozen, before serving.

Tips for Perfect Peanut Butter Banana Split Cups
- Use High-Quality Chocolate: The quality of the chocolate will significantly impact the flavor of the magic shell. Opt for semi-sweet or dark chocolate for a richer taste.
- Don’t Overfill the Cups: Leave a little space at the top of each cup to prevent overflow when adding the filling and toppings.
- Freeze Thoroughly: Ensure the cups are completely frozen before serving for the best texture and flavor.
- Get Creative with Toppings: Experiment with different toppings like shredded coconut, sprinkles, or a drizzle of caramel sauce.
- Make it Vegan: Use dairy-free chocolate chips, coconut yogurt, and your favorite nut butter to create a vegan version of this recipe.
Variations to Try
The beauty of this recipe is its versatility. Here are a few variations to inspire you:
- Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup: Add a layer of peanut butter to the bottom of each cup before adding the chocolate shell.
- Tropical Twist: Use mango, pineapple, and coconut flakes for a tropical flavor.
- Berry Blast: Add a mix of blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries to the filling.
- S’mores Cups: Top with crushed graham crackers and mini marshmallows.
